Hard to beat the C6 and C7 vette for bang for the buck. The C5 ZO6 is a bargain high performance car with a lot of untapped potential to embarrass lots of high dollar super cars with just a bolt on super charger.

As far as new cars go, I agree.  Older models however, there are plenty of others.

Word.  No doubt the current Vette is a beautiful and awesome machine and value, but when push comes to shove, raw AWD muscle is the ultimate, IMO.

And no slight to current Vette owners - God knows I wish I could have one in my garage. Sweet American goodness, indeed.

Sure, if they didn't have a reputation for breaking down / blowing their engines on the track....

I'll stick with my M4 thank you very much

2015 Viper msrp = $84k

With all of the negative press surrounding the C7 lately, it appears to have been the better car all along.

If you want to learn to drive on a track a Miata is the way to go without spending stupid money. Why wreck an $80k car learning how to drive?
Personally when you get up to or over 500 HP I like the idea of all wheel drive, so GTR if you are going to spend serious money or Porsche Turbo S if you have a few hundred grand.

"Previously enjoyed" C5 Z for the win.  IMHO and research, dollar for dollar, its unbeatable.  Of course my opinion is heavily biased.   I also work on German cars for a living, and its a huge relief knowing I can replace virtually any part on the C5 for less than the cost of an air conditioning compressor for one of those Bahnstormers.

A C5 Z with headers and a tune will get you 450BHP in a cage that is under 3000lbs, that with decent suspension for under $20K seems like a best buy to me.

I just bought an Alfa Romeo 4C and pick it up probably the 22nd.

Italian styling, 0-60 in 4.1, carbon fiber tub and only 2300 lbs with all the options I wanted for $65K seems like the performance bargain to me.

Personally when you get up to or over 500 HP I like the idea of all wheel drive, so GTR if you are going to spend serious money or Porsche Turbo S if you have a few hundred grand.

a sport coupe has 4 seats/2 doors
sport sedan 4 seats 4 doors
