I was browsing E-bay and I saw this scale model M4 with this... thing underslung the barrel. WTF is it? And is it real? My guess is a magazine fed shotgun.

A better view of the weapons.

Yes it is a mag fed shotgun. And yes it is real. Cant remember who made it though.

Wow... I didn't realize Masterkey made a mag fed shotgun. Do you know what shotgun it was based off? Or is it all new?

No, the Knights MasterKey is a cut-down 870.  This is the mag-fed Colt underbarrel shotgun.  If you thought the MasterKey was expensive...

Linkee no workee..... [:(]

BTW, I've heard that the MasterKey (and similar arrangments) ar MURDER on the AR's barrel. Is this true? Sounds sensible to me.

Also, does that classify as a Class II weapon, or the fact it's mounted on a Class I (for those of us who DON'T own a bank!) make it OK?

Inquiring minds want to know! [:D]

I don't know about murder, but it should put stress on the AR. But the MasterKey, the real one at least, is mounted to the barrel nut and the barrel, the sturdiest part on the weapon.

If you mounted it on a match barrel, that would be murder on your accuracy. But, I've never heard of the need to breach doors with a match rifle. [;D]

These are NFA items (Short-Barrelled Shotguns, specifically), and are rarely sold to anyone except LEO and government agencies.  You may get lucky by contacting someone with solid ties to Colt, such as Wes at MSTN, or Dennis Todd.  If they can't get one, you're pretty much SOL.  Expect to pay $3,000+.
