Local gun store today looking for toys, inquired about suppressors and pricing, but the big thing was the owner telling me to wait a couple of months because the rules were changing to where you would not need a tax stamp to buy. I was , never heard that before.
Is he F.O.Sh... or is this in the works? Can't believe the gov would give up control of anything where money is involved. |

| Don't wait. Buy it now. I don't know what your dealer is talking about. Maybe some obscure bill that has no chance of passing? I do know that 41p is real and time really isn't your friend if you want to use a trust. Best case scenario nothing happens. Worst case scenario 41p is implemented and you need a CLEO sign off now. |

He's talking about the hearing protection act. And it will never happen. But the can NOW. I've got a lot of shit pending at the moment because of the ever loomig 41P This. The sooner you buy the sooner the wait is over. And expect a major increase as 41p looms. |

This. Buy now, hope that becomes law. Very doubtful with Obama or even a Republican president/congress. |

IMO supressors, sbr, sbs and aow should be over the counter with a 4473 and you walk out the same day. The Hughes amendment should be repealed and new MG added to the registry. But I don't think that is going to happen. The amount of NFA owners is pretty small and the liability for a politician is huge. this is the reason why you can't get CLEO sign off in many places. Imagine if the CLEO signs off and the person uses that weapon to commit a heinous crime. It would almost certainly create a firestorm for the CLEO. The bigger take away from this is that we have to fight EVERY SINGLE gun control expansion tooth and nail. Once they become law it's nearly impossible to rewind the tape. |

Over the counter. 16" Uzi 9mm? Over the counter. 10" 9mm Uzi? Many extra restrictions. I honestly think SBR legalization would be easy for moderates and those on the right. The hardcore anti gun people will obviously no support loosening any laws, but I think most people who are passive on gun control could get behind an effort to de-regulate SBRs.

This has nothing to do with 41p, which would require signatures on all purchases. OPs she is referring to the hearing protection act, which would make suppressors OTC items. 41p probably won't happen, neither will the HPA. Proceed as usual. Quoted:

The Hearing Protection Act (to remove suppressors from the NFA) might have a chance if Ted Cruz is elected president. Short of that, don't hold your breath.
It was introduced just to get people talking about it. I'm surprised that an SOT dealer would be killing potential sales by mentioning this bill. Usually it's just the opposite. Dealers thrive by promoting panics, such as "buy now or lose your chance forever." Call me cynical. |

If you look around Birmingham, you can probably buy some houses for $200. But seriously, I would think that $200 back in 1934 would have violated the 8th Amendment to the Constitution.
