Illegal alien is the correct legal term ( 8 USC 1101(a)(3)). Criminal alien if they have been convicted of a crime.
Immigrant (8 USC 1101(a)(15)) generally only applies to those lawfully admitted to the US except for nonimmigrants. Illegal immigrant is therefore a contradiction. |
