I've been looking for some time now at buying a home. I recently saw THE home. It has literally every single thing that I want. Land, tons of room, plenty of space, updated everything. It is just about as close to perfect as I could ask for.
But.... The septic apparently failed an inspection recently. The reason behind the failure was 1. The cap to an inspection port was loose 2. The scum had risen to the bottom of the riser 3. The system could not be tested due to being overfilled. Shortly after this 'inspection' was done, another company came and pumped the septic. They claimed that the leachfield was not working properly because surface water was running into the tank from the leachfield. So my question is, does this sound like a leachfield problem to you? I have read that a broken pipe from the septic to the leachfield can cause the tank to overflow. Their is no puddling water on the surface of the leachfield, nor is the grass above it overly green and pretty. Their is plenty of land to put in another field, or even another system.
