I saw one on the road go past me yesterday. I forgot that Cadillac made such a nice looking car. A corvette(ish) look without the midlife, baldheaded bullshit. A Cadillac CTS-V would do it, especially with the manual transmission, but it still wouldn't look so sporty. |

In my experience the XLR driver is generally just the woman equivalent of the stereotypical Corvette driver.
From a technical perspective the XLR is just a way heavier C5 that's worse in every performance metric. Their sales were dismal and GM mercifully killed the model after the 09 model year. |

Sort of. They had Northstars in them. Quoted:

I think the XLRs are pretty cool looking, a bit of a rarity too, I don't think they are/were hot sellers. Vette under the skin IIRC. Sort of. They had Northstars in them. That's what killed them if I remember correctly. They couldn't get a better engine to fit in there Damn they are pretty though |

S/C Northstar power though. Enjoy the oil seepage. ![]() Quoted:

XLR here.
Great car and turns heads and is very rare. But much smaller inside than a regular C6. My Z06 was much more fun and had a ton more room. IMO, the XLR's shoud have had the LS7's in them and been the pinnacle of the platform given their initial price. They are basically the same cars with a few differences. They were produced alongside the C6's in the same plant. Not really sure on why they did things the way they did but it is what it is. If you want one I have one for sale |
