That appears intentional. Good luck. Nope. Long skinny stuff like that gets broken all the time during shipping. It's probably the most difficult type of thing to pack in a way that makes it difficult to damage. I probably would have shipped a $500 pool bat stuffed into some pipe from home depot rather than just dropped in a box.

Having worked for the postal service, that would usually be considered a non-machineable item, meaning it shouldn't go thru the mechanized sortation and be handled separately/manually. They get thru sometimes and being the shape they are, prone to damage....that or the UPS guy hates you!
On a side note I ordered a handful of 6 foot lengths of spring rod. Really thin stainless rods meant to be wound into springs and heat treated. They sent them in a really thick cardboard tube and they made it here fine.....they should have used something similar to protect your item. The rods I ordered were super inexpensive (like $2 each) and the shipping was free. I was wondering how the heck they made any money as the tube and shipping HAD to be more expensive than my total cost!! Thick ass cardboard tubes or PVC pipe is the right way to ship cues and fishing poles. |

McDermott didn't have a sale going on . As for the case, they leave that up to you, because you may want a 1x1, 1x2, 2x1 or 2x2.
I bought a case from Viking, which showed up unmolested. I even bought one of those Aramish measle cue balls. I'm a noob to pool equipment, I always just used shoot-around-the-corner bar sticks. |
