This is like the Balkan conflict all over again please explain to me how this is helpful and what happens if Russian intelligence is no good, like ours, and instead of bombing a hospital they bomb a bunch of Green Berets? |

Carter spoke of a triple-pronged strategy focusing on "three Rs": raids, Raqqa -- the terror group's de facto capital in Syria -- and Ramadi, the Iraqi city seized by ISIS earlier this year.
We're sending 50 guys. Probably 50 awesome guys, but still... |

Proxy war V2.0. And Russia mistakenly drops a bomb on US personnel which in turn triggers WW3 I can fucking assure you all that Obama will not go to war with Russia over dead U.S. troops if they're killed by the Rooskies. If he gave two shits about U.S. troops, they wouldn't be in this position to begin with. His abandonment of Iraq made that quite clear. |

At least that is how our government seems to think now. Which actually makes Iran's nuclear ambitions seem pretty reasonable.

I hope they're not going into places where Russia is going to be bombing and shit. Last thing we need is a MAJOR incident where Russia kills Americans on the ground. Most of America would drink the Kool Aid and blame Russia My question would be, "WTF were we doing there in the first place?" And then blaming the current administration, no matter who's in charge. |

Kind of a lesson in not drinking your koolaide when it comes to thinking your intel is infallible. That's the kind of thing I think points back to society's wider lessons from the first world war. In 1914, Capt. Blount would've swallowed hard, got his pluck up, and charged the rooskies. If he hadn't, he'd have been considered a coward by his officers, his men, and the people that wrote that article. The perfectly sensible reasons for his refusal would've been irrelevant. He Had An Order. Now we expect this kind of thing and celebrate it. Not saying it's bad mind you, just a perfect example of the shift in perception that started on the fields of the western front a century ago. |

Kerry isn't ruling out a further U.S. escalation of the fight, saying he can't predict the future. |

I guess with officers like Blunt who needs Generals or Colonels, Blunt can decide when to attack or not, that's is not so good. Is possible that Blunt was right at that moment, but just imagine in a shooting war low ranking officers questioning top commander's orders. I don't like a unified command, let American officers command American forces.

And, somehow, this 'approval' has been used to justify Yemen, Libya, and Syria...funny how the left plays the game however they wish to. |

I hope they're not going into places where Russia is going to be bombing and shit. Last thing we need is a MAJOR incident where Russia kills Americans on the ground. It's coming. The Saudis are already waging economic war on the Russians. They want their puppet Obama to put the US in a ground war with Russia and Iran. It all plays into what the Muslim Brotherhood wants to happen. Weaken the US and Russia, spread Islam in both countries when both are occupied and/or down. |

When there are forces in that same theater of war that we are actively opposing that are actually from that sovereign country then those lines sure get blurry as fuck. What happens when our guys just happen upon Syrian forces? Are we going to commit an act of war against a sovereign country with out congressional approval? That whole country is a cluster fuck we would be best to stay the fuck out of. |
