Shoot cheap, aluminum cased ammo flawlessly, but jambs every other round when I use brass cased ammo? Wtf? It fails to go into battery, the slide doesn't go all the way back forward after picking up a new round.
Yes, I've tried every brand of ammo, GI/kimber/McCormick/and Mec-Gar magazines. No I am not shooting hollowpoints. |

Long story short is that you probably need your chamber reamed. Yep. I had the same problem with a Nowlin 1911 barrel. It would work flawlessly with CCI aluminum cased ammo, but would choke on brass. Unfortunately when I sent it back they reamed it deeper instead of just fixing the tight spot at the front of the chamber.

Maybe brass out of spec? Take barrel out, hand drop bullet into barrel and see how tight it is? I've had a couple boxes of bad brass ammo. Tried this and saw that it barely fit in the chamber; problem was solved. Just did this before I read your post. The brass ammo drops in easily, tried 3 different brands and multiple rounds from each lot. Same for the alum |
