Anyone ever been? Heading to the Keys next week but staying in Marathon. Yeah I know KW is filled with tons of teh gays and old people, but screw it I want to go. A quick google image search will show you many pairs of reasons why I want to go. 
Problem is, Im staying in Marathon and parking seems to be a real issue. Anyone had first hand experience down there during Fantasy Fest?! UPDATE on Pg 2 |

I've been to 4. Wild times. Lived there 3 years and found myself back there for the 4th one. You will see people doing shit that will get you arrested on the spot anyplace else. Parking does suck.Cabs are everywhere. You may be better off just cabbing it. It'll be expensive but will save you the asspain. All the gay stuff is kind of in one place and they seem to kind of keep to themselves for the most part. Last time I was there which I think was 2011 or so, there was a bunch of Russians. I guess they had come in and bought up a bunch of stuff on Duval street. I could write volumes about the debauchery I've witnessed and/or experienced. Wrap it up!
ETA When you are down by Ricks keep a lookout for people pissing off the balcony down onto the street. Seen people get arrested for that more than a few times, and not just during FF. |

I find the replies from the the people that have never been vs the people who have very interesting!
As of right now Im thinking of renting a tent spot at a camp ground on Stockton Island for like $65 a night and just parking there and taking a cab/uber back and forth. Sleep in my truck for a few hours to drive back to marathon and go back the next night...if Im up for it. |

It's pretty crazy. I went once with some friends and we partied with this flamboyantly gay black dude who was frickin' hilarious. He knew the town, and knew how to have a good time without being afraid of us straight folk. It was a blast. I'd go again with the right crew. |
So far its been pretty much impossible to find what Im looking for. A place to park my truck that I can come back to at the end of the night and crash for a couple hours before I drive back to Marathon. A cab will run be nearly $300. 
Maybe my best bet would be to just go, and try and find a chicky snack to shack up with for the night but...since I will be going solo whats the worst that can happen?!

We go down to Key West at least once a year (never during FantasyFest) to party and have good times with friends. We love it! There are some great B & B's just off Duval that make the trip very easy. We park when we arrive and never move the car again until we are ready to drive home.
I also recommend the B & B Lobster House down on the Marina. Excellent food! My dinner at last month's visit: 
All the worry about the gays and drag queens is way overstated.

I spend a couple months down in Marathon every year. Check out Burdines for burgers, Castaways for sushi, and Keys Fisheries for fried fish and oysters. Down in KW traffic and parking will be insane. I'd find someone headed down by boat and hitch a ride. Maybe swap a charter or something. There's all kinds of good food in KW but I always try to go to Michaels for dinner and Blue Heaven for breakfast/lunch. You will see lot's of cock and tits and get shit faced and have a really good time. |
Think I stayed at one of these condos about 6 years ago. Gated and was extremely inexpensive from what I can remember. Basically had a two story house that overlooked the pool. There was a Cigarette Boat Racing event that weekend. Half of Duval Street was, that's different, the other half was this is different. There was a three story bar with cloths optional on the roof (some old ladies, mostly old swinging dicks, still thought it funny to be ordering a beer next to naked people). There was a titty bar next door that had free entry until a certain time, I went in just before it go going and that's when my aged dad, uncle and and sissified brother decided things were getting too wild out there and I wasn't going to chance driving back in my condition  .

They have teeth, will bite and draw blood. Looks much like what I would think a similar sized shark bite would look like. I didn't find parking terrible, but we typically arrived prior to prime party time. |

Im going to fly in to Ft Lauderdale rent a Mustang convertible, hopefully see yacht girl, try to bribe her into going down to Key West with me and having a few days of fun. Look, ocean, a lump of coral with trees and sand I can't afford, oh look, more ocean, repeat till you run up on the guy that is just on a Sunday drive. Pass, repeat. If you feel you've missed something, drive north from KW. When you get bored of that, turn around and go back to the next hang out spot. |
