As I give thanks for a perfectly cooked prime ribeye, a side of Japanese seaweed salad, a big straight Laphroaig Quarter Cask -  and some Allman Brother Statesboro Blues for musical ambiance...it occurs to me that life is pretty Jim-Damned-Dandy! Thanks, God!

ETA: Oh...and Fuck Obummer and Hitlery.

I can dig it, but I buy bottled spring water to freeze for ice cubes so it isn't regular old tap water.

For shame, but I'm sure you have your reasons. (but dear God, don't discount the absolute magic you are surrounded by - realize there are hundreds of thousands in the UK that would KILL to live in KY or TN for just for the whiskey crafted there)

My wife - she loves fine Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey - she is mostly a WT fangirl.

Me - I am completely enamored with finer Tennessee whiskeys.

I live in Texas now, which has it's own share of great craft Bourbons and if they ever start filtering it through smoked peat moss....I'll be first in line to drink some.

Beef and nutrient dense green veggies. Sometimes broccoli, sometimes poblanos, sometimes a salad.

So, coincidentally, I had to go to DFW for work yesterday.  And I can now say the Quarter Cask is definitely the shit and a remarkable value!   Awesome and very unique oak character that's so well integrated with the whole.  They were out of the 18 though.  Picked up some Lagavulin Distiller's Edition for good measure.
