So who makes the best bulbs? I hear Cree a lot but are there better bulbs?
ETA: Looking for work lights for a Kubota RTV and Tractor/Backhoe |
|
I have a whole bunch of them. Our racing team uses Rigid bars. None of the Chinese light bars come close in terms of usable lighting (distance, clarity, etc.). They also have the least amount of glare to fellow drivers on the track and are easier on your own eyes during 24 hour endurance racing.
That said, the Chinese knockoffs work fine for most applications if you don't want to spend a gazillion dollars on a Rigid bar. I haven't had one fail. |

Get cheap one on amazon.
I've got several on my ATV's which are constantly submerged (sometimes for long periods of time if I'm sitting in water duck hunting on a 4wheeler) and they've been good to go. Bright, CHEAP, and work. What more do you need for a tractor? |

The ChiCom bar on my Rhino gave me a beautiful profile shot of a Gar underwater while crossing a creek this past summer during the monsoon.
POS still works.

As with anything, you get what you pay for.
Things to look for: IP Rating: 67 is good. Effective Lumens: This is the output after the light heats up (usually after 30 minutes) not at instant on. Thermal pullback is good. Overvoltage protection is good. Stainless steel brackets and fasteners are good. |

To those Fags with lightbars on your brodozers: Turn off your light bar while driving in traffic! That's no lie! Even in the daylight I see idiots driving with them on and they are just as blinding then too. I have 100W driving lights and blind the shit out of them right back. Usually they get the hint. |

Quoted: Try olympus off road. The make a line that has been bullet proof for me. Not my picture- from a off-road forum http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag136/Cory762/03325E68-389B-4208-B405-11AAB30277AF_zps3i1w4hmc.jpg http://i1302.photobucket.com/albums/ag136/Cory762/C71D9170-949E-4D77-A1F0-B7AF110AFC6A_zps0mq3dpm7.jpg Damn. That beats my before and after. Double row 20 in light bar on the front of my cruiser. |
