So I recently purchased a Mossberg 930 JM Pro after borrowing one at my last couple of 3 gun matches. I'm a college student so I did not want to spend much on a shotgun and this one fit the bill. I got the gun through Buds and all was well. Well unfortunately I overlooked the fact that the vent rib was crooked and didn't line up with the receiver. I emailed Mossberg with pictures and explained the issue. I also mentioned that I had a match this Sunday. On Tuesday I received an email saying they would replace it and to my surprise I came home to a new barrel today. Pretty impressed with CS so far.

I'm not affiliated with Mossberg just like to spread a positive review with any CS in our hobby!

Do you have to send the old barrel back? If not any way to fix it and keep it as a spare?

That's cool that they sent you a new barrel so fast.

Yeah they included a label to ship the old one back. It's not super important to have the vent rib line up perfectly and I have seen many other shotguns with it not, but for a 600 dollar gun I wanted to see what they would do about it.

I need to send the barrel on SPX930 back. There was a huge replacement back in the day. They said send in the current one and they'll send out a new one. Never got around to it.

What were they recalled for?

They took care of me on a rifled slug barrel for a 935 that wouldn't fit into the receiver properly.  I sent it in and they sent me a new one.

I was very surprised they sent me the barrel before I shipped the old one back.

Good to know.

Now that remington sucks, if I need a new shotgun...mossburg seems to be the ticket for a domestic product.  

I'd sure like a SLP, but I don't want to deal with all the crap that goes into dealing with an imported shotgun.  (for my uses, at least).

Yeah, I know I bought a cheap shotgun compared to what else is out there but this customer service makes me feel a lot better about it. Maybe one day I can afford a highly modified M2 for 3 gun.

they do have good service after the sales!  



Lost a spring for the feed tube (installing a plug the morning of a hunt ), mailed it no cost.  Another time I bought a used one of their crappy O/U's.  Had some problems, replaced it with a new one.  Can't beat that

I have an older 930 field model (when they first came out), it's been flawless for quite a few years and quite a few baths of pond water.  Fit and finish is meh, but damn if it doesn't work

I will admit the fit and finish leaves a little to be desired but it is on par for what I expected out of an entry level gun.

I don't know if it was a recall, but the front sight posts weren't straight.
