How do you pay for your gun purchases?

[#1]
I've used cards and cash.

Cash or Money Order/Cashier's Check's.  More secure this way.
Less of a paper trail for the wife to follow!!

Cash. The only paper trail is from hand to pocket.

[#4]
I beg.

Depends on what I think of the seller...

CC can always be disputed.

I use my CC because I get miles credit for travel. I almost always pay off my card at the end of the month.

Cash only. [forATFlurkers]Not that I buy any guns[/forATFlurkers].

I did by a scope with a credit card, and some m14 mags with a check, but I mostly deal with a couple of friends, and there is no paper trail therre. If someone starts asking about it, there is no memory of a sale either.

I have no guns. Honestly.

I use a credit card for everything that will take one because I have a First USA card that refunds me cash on all purchases.  It refunds 1% of the total purchases.  I put everything on it and then pay it off at the end of the month.

A word of warning for you young guys.....if you don't have the discipline to pay the card off totally at the end of the month, don't use one.  The interest on credit cards is terrible.  You would never go into a bank and borrow money at 22% interest, so don't borrow money on the card.

I made myself a promise that if I ever cannot pay it off at the end of the month, I will cut it in half.

Both. I prefer to do cash.

I try to buy them all with cash/money order.  If a really good deal comes up and I don't have the cash handy I'll use the CC, but I always pay it off within 2 months at most.

Guns.... What guns... No guns here.

I've used all methods available including one you have not listed.  TRADES or Trade-ins.

You have to pay?  I never pay for it.

Small denomination unmarked bills.

This is a gun site?

Voted other - the last rifle, mount, rings and scope cost me an arm and a leg and kidney.

Listen to this man, he is wise. [^]

I use a Cabela's Club VISA, otherwise ditto.

There is always a paper trail in RI, so there is no reason to avoid using the card.

I pay for all purchases, gun or otherwise, with a very low-interest, cash-reward credit card.  Since I adhere to a budget, stay at or below it, and pay off my balance every month, why not???

If I order online I use my credit card.  At gunshows I usually use cash.

What is this "gun" of which you speak?

Cash and credit cards mostly, sometimes layaway..

so far I've used check (effectively cash) for the actual firearms, and debit/credit for accessories.  I will use debit/credit for the actual firearms in the future, but haven't really had the option as of yet.

very very true.  I had a couple of summers where I couldn't find a job and had to live off credit (or under a bridge; take your pick, eh?).  paying it back is a pain in the neck.  do whatever you can, short of actually living homeless, to avoid a situation like that.  it sucks bad.
