Netflix series. Based on the novels. I like it.
Gun lore in the first episode appeared to be spot on. Rare. Katee Sackoff (Starbuck in Battlestar Galactica) is in it. Anyone else like it? |

Watching them now, just about done with Season 2. The only thing that bugs me is when they talk about registering guns in WY... ![]() This plus... Walt carries his 1911 chambered with the hammer down Branch carries a Sigma, even though he is rich
Other than that, I really like the show. |

The guns reflect the characters personality Sticking Ferg with an old style basic revolver and no reloads Vic with her Glock Longmire with his old school 1911 and lever actions And they all skip the body armor except for key scenes.....the rest I might buy that from but Vic from PA and should know better |

Gun lore in the first episode appeared to be spot on. Rare. Been a little while since I've seen that episode, but wasn't that one when they declared the .45-70 as an unusually rare round? There's derp in the show just like any other, but I enjoy it. I hope they get a season 5. |

Yeah no way someone would get away with one that form fitting or revealing in the real world TV land is what it is Quoted:

Vic needs to button her shirt. Bugs hell out of me, and I'll bet a sheriff like Longmire would not tolerate the unprofessional look.
We watched the last episode last Saturday night. Now here we sit, waiting on the next season. I think we switch back to Hell on Wheels next. |

It would be better if it was shot in Wyoming.
As for the gunderp, its hollyweird. Guns are registered and you can trace a 90 year old gun to the current owner 1100 miles away in 1.67 seconds based on a glace at the firing pin indentation using moonlight for illumination. As for the clothing worn by Vic, be thankful the producer didn't put Feg in lingerie from Victoria's Secret. |

I've tried to watch it several times, but since I work as an LEO all of these kinds of shows turn me off. It's not the show itself, just all of the unrealistic procedural DERP. Ya, I know, no one wants to watch paper work being done or the hours and hours that it takes to process a real crime scene, or the long and tedious steps that are required to obtain a search warrant.... but still.
And how many who done it murders can one small WY community have in a year? Ok, I'm done. |

I got the impression they were more of a county department rather than a community one - but they make sound like Wyoming has like 4 counties total. I personal gun favorite was how buck and ball 410 was a common snake load. I have a Bond derringer - at least in TX, its hard enough to find 410 buck - but I have never even heard of 410 buck and ball. |

They're going to operate out of the county seat, obviously How far out of that office they operate on any given day is a question mark They seem to be pretty short-staffed for the area they're covering, even if its a low density population. |

You realize it's been on A&E since 2012, right? It was picked up by Netflix this season when it wasn't renewed on cable. |

Things happen in small communities, as they do in big cities. |

Happens all the time. In other news: Likable characters and setting Terrible writing, I can stand to watch about 1 episode a month. ETA: this show is NOTHING like what it is actually like in, what I assume, is northern Wyoming somewhere between Cody and Sheridan including the scenery. Must be filmed in Greybull right? |
