Need to know what the hive says.
I'm looking for an ice cooler to keep in the back seat of my truck for drinks and lunch. I travel alot with my job an spend alot of time in my truck and on the road (crew cab Ford f-150). I've just started this job recently and am spending alot of money on drinks and eating out since I'm not physically setting in my office much anymore with a fridge to have lunch out of. So, I've thought I would like to get a cooler to put in the back seat and keep waters/soda and my daily lunch in while I'm on the road. I am wanting to have one that I wont have to put ice in every other day or so, but i'm also not wanting to have to take out a loan for a cooler either. Deep down inside I really want a Yeti, but not sure if I can justiy the price. Is there any recommendations out there for a cooler that holds up close to what a yeti can provide but a fraction of the cost? The cooler would be seeting in the cab of the truck so it would see both cold and warm temps. Cooler temps when Im in it with the AC on and warmer tems when the truck sits in the midwest heat for a day. Any suggestions? |

I have had awesome luck with Coleman Xtreme coolers. My locally grocery store carries them but so does Walmart or Amazon.
http://www.beyondthetent.com/yeti-cooler-vs-the-colman-extreme/ The articles claims are accurate. It will keep items cold for almost a week if you use the right amount of ice and pre chill the items. Follow the instructions and they work amazing. I paid about $25 each for my two 36 quart versions.

My Yeti got me out of a speeding ticket on the way to CWE so that gets my vote! Did it fall out of the bed of your truck and total the cop car or something? Nah, got pulled over in WV by a cop facing the other way, drove across the grass median to pull me over. *shit* "I clocked you doing 81 in a 65" "Yeah, that sounds about right." "License and registration." I'm digging around for the registration in the center console. Though I found it but said "Nope, that's my hunting license". "Where are you going?" "Appomattox, VA" Cop looks around the truck full of camping gear and guns. "Ok, I'll be right back." Comes back with my license. "So who's the rich guy with the Yeti?" "Uh.. that's mine, sir." "How much you pay for that?" "Too much. That's why there's a steel cable attaching it to the bed." "What, like $800?" "Nah, not quite that bad. But it saves me money, I just need one bag of ice for the week!" "Uh-huh. Just a warning, have a good one." |
