pretty sure it is, since there was a story within the last couple of days where a person is being charged in theft of bitcoins. I will try to find the story

ETA: http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-34114483.

I don't know how to make it hot.

It must be.  The ARFCOM Bitcoin Bugs have told me so.

Cryptocurrency is going to be a thing for a while whether it's bitcoin or whatever. Think I just read where Russia or some nation state is making their own

I had 1/1000th of the Bitcoin mining network of the world 1.5 years ago. I got into it when it was just $3 in 2011. I made $15,000 at just 19 years old. I had enough Bitcoins at one point to be a millionaire (if I kept them).

It was fun. I just feel like people don't care about the privacy and ease of it. It's one of those things that it's only good if everyone does it. Bitcoin is amazing in and of itself. I accept Bitcoin at all of my stores. I had an untold amount of money at one point and no one knew about it. I was able to sell and buy bitcoin for cash. And no one knew about it. I could buy things with no trail, I could send money with no trail. I loved it. I was not doing malicious things. But the freedom Bitcoin gave me felt good.

I guess it's similar to using Tor as a browser. Yes, it takes longer to start up, you don't keep your bookmarks, personal settings etc. That's why people don't use it.

You can use Chrome. And have your stuff logged, Geo location, cookies, etc.

I guess the main thing is that having a lot of privacy is inconvenient.

Incredibly volatile currency used by people that want a layer between them and whoever is tracking them. Not especially liquid, but if you are having drugs mailed to your dorm, you cannot put it on Amex.

I would guess that close to 100% of transactions under 1 BTC are at least indirectly for something illegal.

FIFY.  Don't you feel better, knowing someone you didn't vote for has decided how you WILL run your life, whether you like it or not?
