I'm going to set up a trust today. I'll probably go with NFAlawyers since he is a dealer here and folks are happy with his work. What I want to know is can a co trustee also be a beneficiary? Even though my wife will probably not use any of the items, I do want her as a co trustee due to possession, etc. From what I've seen it's OK, but I thought i'd see if any of you have yours set up this way.

IANAL

In Ohio the settelor can be a trustee.  Any beneficiary may also be a trustee.

Other state laws will vary.

Hmmm thought they were all the same. I have my wife as my trustee. If something happened to me she would get my NFA items.

Settelor is the person creating the trust.  May or may not be a trustee.  In my case I am settelor and trustee.  My son is co-trustee and one of the beneficiaries.

My condolences... Life as you knew it is over.  Welcome to a world broken into $200 segments where everything has a waiting period.

FWIW, I've had my trust for a little over a year and have run the gamut of Form 1's, Form 4's, and build it yourself suppressors.  Just yesterday, I sent off another $400 to bribe, I mean PAY, the ATF for a couple more suppressor stamps.  It's a never ending cycle... Build a SBR, then build a suppressor for the SBR, then buy a suppressor for another gun, the realize you need another SBR for the store bought suppressor, then build another...AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!

NFA is like crack and porn combined...  one huge addiction you can't (and don't want) to get over.
