I have not tried many.  I had some Famous Grouse the other night and enjoyed it more than the other couple of blends I've tried. The only single malt I've had is Yamazaki 12 and I did like that one a lot.

Not necessarily my favorite, but as soon as my shift is finished, I'm headed for a glass of Johnny Walker Red.

I was thinking about starting a thread on Scotch. My wife and I just got back from a two week vacation in Scotland. We went there to tour distilleries and that we did!

I don't have a total of the different Scotches that we tasted, but it certainly approaches 3 dozen or so. Several of the distilleries offered 6 different Scotches in their tastings. So just 3 distilleries would have been 18. Now that I think of it, I must have tasted 50 or more Scotches.

We brought back 3.5 liters of Scotch that is not available in the US. I didn't see much sense in bringing back Scotch that I get buy here.

Because our bags weighed over 50 pounds each with the Scotch in them, we donated some of our clothing to a thrift shop to save weight.

I'll pour a wee dram and be back in a bit.

Cheap: Famous Grouse

Mid-range: Johnny Walker Black Label

Top-shelf: Can't really tell the difference between various 15+ year single malts. Unless they are Islay and then they taste like band-aids.
