Has it been long enough? Which is the betterer of the two?

Key mod is ugly and mlok is a pain to adjust the nuts before you tighten them, but both systems work fine

I picked up an Mlok float tube from MI. I like it because it doesn't look like I scavenged a shelving unit for my rifle.

I like the feel of bare KeyMod in my hands better.

If mounting shit, MLOK is better.

Ya know.... I could never see the dick in the old AR15.com logo... I never saw the two dicks in the Spikes Tactical logo...

But dammit, keymod slots look like little cock-and-balls.

I can't not see them. They will never not appear as dicks to me.

Maybe he means if it can hold 1000's of pounds with industrial shelving it can hold some fore grips and lights?

That's old school, man. You gotta get with the new hotness.

But seriously, I didn't want to include regular picatinny rails because I wanted a direct vote between M-LOK and KeyMod, as they're direct competitors and go after the same niche.

Hard to beat the quality and value of ALG EMR M-Lock rails. Light, strong includes the barrel nut and wrench that doesn't require a torque wrench.

Well said.  I just put together a MI M-LOK build, and my last build was a BCM KMR.  I really don't have a strong preference either way, they both work, both effectively similar.  Loving the constant innovations!

KM.  Because Noveske rails aren't available in MLok.  If you don't like the pattern, get some covers.  The pattern disappears.

Like that.

Or this.

Just bought a 12" v3 thanks to your post. Can't wait to ditch the heavy 7" quad rail and try the EMR out.

I don't get the full length key-mod, M-LoK, or 1913 rail thing. How much shit do you really plan on hanging off your rifle? IMO KAC got it right with the URX 3.1 rail on the Sr15 Mod 1. YMMV.

ETA: I didn't buy a pencil barrel so I could put a 30 oz rifle length rail on the thing. I built a sub 8lb gun loaded with optic and light

And they feel terrible in the hand.

Personally I prefer Mlok. Mainly from an engineering standpoint. I was thinking of getting a keymod rail for a while but after I heard the term dickmod I couldn't look at it the same again.

I love my BCM KMR so keymod for me!

ETA: I run a BCM keymod KAG grip, QD sling mount, and light mount for my surefire m600 and have had zero issues. Made it through a 1500 round class plus much much more.
