This picture is supposed to be a couple of US Marines standing guard in Kurdish controlled northern Iraq.

They have some interesting items like those hats, body armor, chest pouches and their rifles.  Anyone wish to comment.

On first glance, to me they look more like SOCOM guys rather than Marines.

Bipods on M4's are unusual aren't they?
The guy in the back looks like he's got a nice Dip in his lip.

Seals or DEVGRU - The sideburns are too long and the guy on the left has a mustache out of reg. Plus they're using commercial body armor, lighter weight and easy to conceal if they have to.

Thanks for blowing up the picture. I really love a good violation of OPSEC, especially when aggravated by a helpful curious tourist type. I am sure no one would print those pictures and use them to tap those guys when they are off duty at a coffe house or anything. Can you clean up the blown up picture? I don't have that good a program. It is hard to pick your targets when the picture is fuzzy.[:|]

OPSEC?

They're standing on a public street, in day light, wearing uniforms - they really don't seem to be too concerned about maintaining their indentity a secret.

With them being posted on Fox, I doubt that OPSEC is much of a concern. Its not exactly like we in the states are the ONLY ones with photoshop software. I am all about OPSEC. Been there, had that class. Its not like these are pics hacked from Pentagon computers.

Seeing as this photo came from Fox News Photo Essay,I'd say that OPSEC was blown with Gov't approval. Lighten up Francis.

Yes, because as you know, it's impossible for terrorists to gain access to photoshop, paint shop pro, or even MS paint. And it's even harder for them to figure out how to do a simple image sizing in any web browser by setting the image H&W settings to numbers higher than the actual image.
