3 year old laptop. Windows 8, using Chrome. 2 days ago my mouse pad stopped working. Plugged a wireless mouse in and drove on. Last night the cursor stopped working. Couldn't open anything. Today, cursor only opens one tab at a time, and the back button re-opens whatever page I'm looking at. Plus, I can't open my bookmarks. After a while it froze again. Dafuq? |

If your wireless mouse has as external receiver or dongle, make sure it's not covered by something. If there's not a physical button on or near the touch pad, look at your function keys (F1, F2, F3, etc) above your number keys. Do you have one that has a touch pad picture on it? Sometimes, you can also lock it by tapping one of the corners of the touch pad. There's usually some kind of small symbol near the corner. If you can't find the touch pad on/off switch, send me the laptop brand and model and I'll look it up for you. |
