You might be able to have one store transfer to your store, or look at any number of online retailers that ship. Walmart has a giant catalog behind the counter. They will order one for you. It should not be that hard to get a 6920 right now. Last time I saw them they were $920 or so. You could probably get it much cheaper from a lot of other shops. |

My walmart store told me that walmart was getting out of the "assault rifle" and shotgun business due to pressure. They can't special order any of those items. In another thread on this I was told he didn't know what he was talking about. YMMV I think it is up to the store or district manager. |

YMMV I think it is up to the store or district manager. it has something to do with walmart hq and the districting of the stores. some stores cant carry the AR rifles while the ones down the road have a lot of them. Managers can request to change this but most just dont care to mess with it if they are not into guns. I was told this by our local store mgr who doesnt care to get them in. said he would get me one but he doesnt have the room for added gun inventory in his small sporting goods area. |

That sounds about right, probably his manager. He said that store is one of the biggest sellers of AR's in that area. I would believe it, they moved them off the shelves. |

After buying an LE6920 last night at my nearest Walmart, I went to a different Walmart in my area tonight. They were sold out of 6920 M4's, but they did have one SOCOM M4A1 left, regular price $1,497.00, marked down to 999.00. Needless to say, it accompanied me home. edit to add: Talked to the store assistant mgr. while doing the paperwork. He said these Colt and other AR clearances are normal "resetting" for Walmart, that as far as he knew, they would be getting new AR's in the future to replace the clearanced stock. The SOCOM I bought was the last Colt in that store, he said they sold several 6920's the past couple of days at the $699.00 clearance price. He also said the Colt clearance had nothing to do with the Colt bankruptcy, that he expected his store to get restocked with Colt and other AR's in the near future. He did not know at what kind of prices any new stock would be set. |

Im a dealer. All my distributors sent out notice that Colt is changing how it sells to dealers. Unless they make an exception for walmart (and they would be stupid not to), they wont be able to sell Colt any more. We can no longer order just one gun. We have to be a stocking dealer and have to carry the whole line up. Here is a small clip from the article below.
The new Stocking Dealer Program ensures that dealers have ready-to-go inventory on hand of Colt’s core models, including the Colt .380 Mustang®, Defender™ or Combat Commander®, 1991 Series Government Model®, and either an LE6920 modern sporting rifle variant or Gold Cup®, depending on the market. In order to support this new program, Colt has been increasing production rates dramatically in the last 60 days and will continue to ramp-up throughout the implementation phase, which is scheduled to be completed by the end of August. http://www.colt.com/ColtintheMedia/PressReleases/tabid/252/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/128/Colt-Introduces-New-Stocking-Dealer-Program.aspx If you are planning on getting one from walmart, I would do it now. They sell them close to dealer prices. |

Since Walmart does not sell handguns, I imagine they will be given an exemption from that new rule. Do you expect Colt prices to start going up from this new program, or is this just a way to move more product (due to the bankruptcy?). |
| I wished I had waited for these clearance prices at Walmart, I picked up another 6920 at a Walmart about a month and a half ago for $950. Most of the Walmarts in my area only stock shotguns and hunting type rifles but this particular store normally has 7 or 8 AR's in the case. It really doesn't bother me that bad about the price considering I wanted to make sure I had one to give to each of my three sons. |
