It should be thick enough to stab with a fork.
If you don't think so you are probably a nasty hippyhomocommiepetafag. |

I would say middle-of-the-road thick. I recently bought a 15 pound box of Wright brand bacon at a restaurant supply store and got the "extra thick" stuff. That sounded like a good idea, but the reality is that you get a lot fewer slices that way. Even if they're marginally thicker, we can all agree that more slices of bacon = more happiness (as long as the slices aren't too thin). The biggest problem with thin bacon is that you can't cook it floppy. Everyone knows that crispy bacon is bad.

Lower heat and longer cooking time and you get better than floppy or crispy, which is chewy. |

MEH -Thin bacon on cast iron is better than no bacon at all..... http://m2.i.pbase.com/o4/72/325172/1/110944882.IWcYA8fP.14.jpg True. Thick and cast iron cooked. but NOT crispy. I mean not raw but... if it's cooked to the point where it's rock hard then it's gross. |

You can slice it any way you want, but you best not be complaining about people cooking steaks well-done if you like crispy bacon because the same thing applies. Crispy bacon is overcooked. Period, end of story. Heck, it event tastes like charcoal because you've cooked all the meaty goodness out of it. |

You're all fucked up, and you probably hate apple pie too. Goddamned communist. |

Doesn't matter as long as it's crispy. I see you guys like well-done steaks as well... I like crispy bacon, but steaks I'll eat medium rare to rare. I don't have a huge problem w/ blue rare but I prefer a warm center, and I've had steak tartare which was good. Beef is good rare. Pork should be cooked properly. |

Usually I just buy Canadian Bacon, chop it and eat it raw with bread and tomato. http://stalkerville.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/sugar-free-canadian-bacon-600x276-56963.jpg That's unsmoked ham. You should feel bad. |
