How long are you willing to wait for the rise. When do you sell. I think gold will break $1900 before the next election.

Ok, I'll bite.

$1900 is a big number, almost double where it is right now.

Silver has a better shot at doubling than gold.

All the PM I bought is intended for retirement or inheritance.  Short term trading in PM is far too risky for me, it's insurance not an investment.

If you look at gold prices they historically hit higher when oil drops and a crucial election is in the mix.

I can see gold going up.  What happened in Argentina, Zimbabwe, Weimar Germany can happen here too.  QE FTW!

Then again, even if it hits $1.9k, what does that mean in terms of dollars?  It should be more than a bag of potatoes and a pound of flesh.

OP obviously is sitting on gold hoping for the future.

I sold at $1,600 and bought guns.

I still have silver and may add more. But Gold is off my event horizon for a while.

I was thinking of what Selco (SHTF School) wrote.  He said gold became worthless and food and ammunition was king.

Hence, I have always maintained that when you have enough beans 'n boolits (say you  have two decades or so for everyone in your household, your close friends and trusted neighbors), then put any surplus capital into bullion.  When the rebuilding starts, you will have liquidity and can become rich (buy sh*t cheap).

If anyone on this forum has 2 decades worth of food and ammo for all their family and friends I would pat them on their back.

Golds short term future is not good. Five years or more who knows. I think it's going lower.

Enough is subjective.  I don't have two decades worth of beans 'n boolits.  It's what a person's comfort level is and anticipated length of the depression and then it's a balancing act between the 3Bs and the financial resources available.

They have to close. With the price of gold well below the cost to mine it, it's unfeasible for them to operate. Ditto with the silver miners.

Interest rate increases are doing to push the $US up, and the dollar has an inverse relationship to the price of gold.

(I have a gold claim .  )

So as long as I cover gas costs I could care less how low it goes before it rises. And it will rise eventually.

Not as quickly as OP thinks, but it will eventually.
