So the rebel flag is falling faster across the Southern US in 2015 than it did during Sherman's march to the sea in 1864. However, I don't see the progressives, commies, and liberals stopping with the flag. First will be un PC street names. Next the monuments will come tumbling down, like Lee circle in New Orleans. Followed by any evil plantation houses. Goodbye Oak Alley. Then Confederate Battlefields and cemeteries like Vicksburg will be replaced with low income housing. Next we have to purge any historical figure that embraced slavery, of course including those evil founding fathers. Oh, and don't forget to make sure that the history books focus on how the USA was evil and founded on slavery, by slavers, for SLAVERY!!! (Oh and we also killed all the Indians don't forget) Pretty soon US history will begin with FDR and the great society and leave out all of the messy un PC stuff replaced with white guilt. History is racist, let's white wash (damn has to be a better word for that) all of it in the name of a more diverse future. Never mind that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Let's bury our heads in the sand about what really happened! I can't wait to travel down Caitlyn Jenner Blvd. to see the LGTBA Freedom circle!! ETA: Undid dyslexic date!

No, I think the progressives are getting closer to their end goal. That this is giving them a smoke screen from other shenanigans does not mean that they don't want to wipe out any history that bothers them. The liberal progressive movement is very adept at advancing on all fronts. Meanwhile we play chess, or checkers, or tiddlywinks. Quoted:

What's more likely to happen is that they will try to erase historic figures and drawings off the US currency. Mark my word. I can see it now. The new twenties will have a holographic face pic, depending on how you hold it you see either Bruce or Caitlin. |

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York) wants to get rid of a Brooklyn street named for Confederate General Robert E. Lee. This all seems somewhat familiar.
No, I guess it was always that way. |

A "How to profit from Liberalism" thread would make a nice contribution to this site. The Congress raised the per cycle campaign contribution limits (for Federal candidates) by a factor of ten last year as part of the continuing resolution to fund the government. It raised the limits on contributions to political parties even more. When you find that those limits are affecting your ability to buy influence with the politicians, you'll be in a position to profit from the non-stop expansion of government. Until such time you're merely expected to foot your "fair share" of the bill. |
