[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Long hair donation????

I have heard of some organization that will use human hair to make wigs for kids w/ leukemia or burn victims, and am about to get my 2' long hair cut off. I'd love to see it get to something like this, some NFP organization. I sure as hell aint gonna leave it on the floor.

Anyone know any further details?

Search under 'hair donations'. Wigs for kids came up under my first try.

Yeah, I learned about it two years ago or so when Sammy Hagar did it. I could have donated 2.5-3 feet about ten years ago, but was unaware of it.

I saw that web site and my 20" pony tail was on a table ten minutes later. It will break your heart to see those little kids and every one of them with this big smile on their face.

They sent me a thank you card that looked like it cost $.02
Its pretty clear where they spend their money!
(No high dollar mailings like NRA!)
