Hello, I believe I was reading this site a while ago when I came upon a link to a web page that shows you how to build your own lower receiver. It had pics and instructions and did not look pretty but it worked. I tried to use the search feature but it only goes back 30 days. Does anyone have this link? Thanks |

Here's a link where you can purchase 80% receivers: www.tanneryshop.com/ Since these are not full receiver, you do not need to have an FFL to buy em. Also, if I am not mistaken, the ATF allows you to mfg one firearm for personal use without having to have a license. |

Hey thanks! I am not in the market for one and really do not want to build one. the site was just SO well done I wanted to show someone. Thanks for the help! OK, I am looking for the "Build It Yourself" forum but I am coming up STUPID! Drat! Foiled again by technology. |

It's simply impossible - pure poppycock - only a complete fool would think that with some drill bits and a hand file or two he could build a complete functioning AR-15 lower. (It really is nearly that easy [;)]) More pictures at http://photos.ar15.com/WS_Content/ImageGallery/Default.asp?sView=T&iGalleryUnq=369& |

Following LT's link, I got to this thread: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=148435 It's a list of different home build links. Velveeta, I thought you were referring to this bolt together lower: www.geocities.com/elmgrove1765/project6/project6.html Ugly as sin, but kinda cool at the same time. [:)] |

Quoted: Here's a link where you can purchase 80% receivers: www.tanneryshop.com/ I have to apologize. Until I read the sites I did not know that the 80% project was what I was looking for. Thanks to everyone. I also would like to point out that if I was a Fed I would be browsing from work on your dime! http://www.geocities.com/elmgrove1765/project6/rxvr18.jpg |

I can buy a Bushmaster for less than that... Didn't know Bushmaster started selling lowers without serial numbers or Dealer Records Of Sales. Might make it worth it buying from them then [:D] 80% lower = $98 Jig and tools = $400 Having an AR lower receiver not on paper = priceless! |
