Wow, harsh on a guy who saves the good whiskey for special occasions; its rough being young and poor on arfcom. Next time I'll make sure to post something from my single malt collection when I'm drinking on a Tuesday morning after a rough night at work. I'm younger than 30 and paying for a house and renovations by myself. At least where I am, EW runs $25/bottle. Some of the lower end 4 Roses cost as much or less, and the 4R Single Barrel can be had (after some shopping around) for $30. Elijah Craig is $20/bottle. Having sampled the best of the EW line (their single barrel) I find it hard to believe anyone drinks it recreationally when 91 octane gas is cheaper. Tell me about the Hi Power. |

In my area, EW is the cheapest drinkable bourbon. A handle runs less than $20, and I find it comparable in quality to Jim Beam (I know that doesn't say much). I save bourbons like Jefferson's, Knob Creek, Basil Hayden's, etc, for special occasions, and truly savor them when I deem it appropriate. Today, I'm just looking for a buzz before bed after a long, rough night at work. The Hi Power was a Christmas gift from the wife. Standard Mk. III. I blacked out the rear sight, added a front night sight (easier to pick up being near sighted), removed the mag disconnect, wolf 2-coil trigger spring to improve trigger reset, and the grips are Craig Spegel cocobolo S++. It has about 1,000rnds through it since christmas, including about 500 at the SIG Academy. |
