Looking for recommendations for cat flea control medications. Brand and vendor recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Advantage just doesn't seem to get it done.
TIA, Ray

Advantage always worked for my cats, active ingredient, 9.1% imidaclorid.

Talked to a gal at the SPCA. She recommended the Sorento flea collar. Supposed to be as effective as the quality topical treatments, but lasts 7-8 months.
About $60ish per collar, but considering the monthly outlay for Advantage, etc.,. a good alternative.

Mycodex cat safe flea shampoo.  Siphotrol II household spray/fogger.  That'll get rid of the repopulation and eggs.  Then find a topical for the cat.  I don't know about the topicals though.

I just avoid their albums for the most part, but Bloodsugarsexmagic is pretty tempting.

Wow that's crazy.  I tried Front-line and the fleas threw a kegger.  I switched to Advantage and bam no more fleas.

I think fleas do develop an immunity after a while.

Nothing made by Hartz, Killed one of our dogs and poisoned 2 others, almost to lethal amounts.

Yep almost lost a cat to that shit.  Advantage and Front-line or their generic counterparts are the only two options as far as the liquid application type controls.

I'll preface this with, I could be wrong, but I don't think ingesting diatomaceous earth is going to do much in the way of pest control. That's not how it works.  Never in a million years would I put Seven Dust on my animals, for fear of them licking it and getting it in their system. Be careful with that shit.

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will let me know...

Frontline didn't do shit for our 20 lb. indoor cat. So far Sentry fiproguard for cats seems to be working.

Got the collars. Initial outlay is $. Less than 24 hours and we are flea free. I am impressed and will go with these collars from here on out.
