| How much below market value can I expect to get if I try and sell some of my silver? Bars and coins, not jewelry. |

I figured the places that buy silver would knock some off of it. Quoted:

Should get spot and maybe a few extra depening on what it is. Sell in the EE, anything near spot is snatched up with a quickness. I figured the places that buy silver would knock some off of it. Don't go to a store. Face to face CL or EE deal with someone with good feedback. The stores will rape well below spot. Eta- eBay is good too, but I'd worry about a fraudulent claim. Especially if you're hard up for cash. |

Oh, they will. Look to loose about 15% under spot at least. Those "we by gold and silver" places are the worst place to sell to. |

You aren't selling silver. So, we were a help. Quoted:

Good choice. Silver is suppressed. The fiat monetary system is unraveling. Better to hold onto that stuff. Quoted:

If long term paper investments are not your thing, buying tangible property that is obviously actively manipulated to the short side is not a bad idea. |

Prices are low, and I believe they're unlikely to get significantly lower anytime soon. I would hold and/or buy PMs until we see a significant price increase. OTOH, I suspect that the value of your savings account will go up very little, if at all, in the foreseeable future. So, if you're set on buying something, I would recommend taking the funds from savings. IMO, the question that you should really be asking is whether buying whatever it is that you want is a good idea. Perhaps we could be of more help if you would fill in that bit of information. |
