HK USP .45, using tactical barrel and tactical recoil spring.
Other pistol is Springfield 1911 Lightweight Operator, full size. Using lone-wolf drop in barrel.

Suppressor is Octane 45 HD.

Problem: when firing with the suppressor mounted on either pistol, small pieces of copper jacket from the bullet end up in the first 2-3 baffles. Accuracy is not really affected. The jacket pieces range in size from small to probably 1/8 of the entire jacket. What falls out varies. You can hear them rattling around in the can after firing. No obvious baffle strikes, no obvious end cap strikes.

I emailed silencer co the day I got the can to see about a resolution. They sent me a new piston for the HK, and the problem was resolved. When I started shooting the can on my 1911, the problem began again. The problem continued again after I moved it back to my HK.

On my HK the copper blowback is so heavy it gets into my recoil spring, magazines, and in the frame. It mainly only is found in the can on my 1911.

I used a different piston on each pistol due to different thread pitches.

I've lubed the piston and spring with rem-oil(all I've got), I've double and triple checked that the can is tight on the barrel. I've tried multiple brands of ammo. I'm pretty positive that I didn't get two barrels that magically destroy bullets only when suppressed. The problem continues.

Thoughts, hints, suggestions? My next step is to email silencer co again but I figured someone here might know something and suggest a quick and simple fix.

Other notable event, the last time I shot my 1911 with the can on, after 5 or so magazines the can had to be manually reset. By this I mean I had to turn the can for the piston to seat itself again. It had come out of the little groves it sits in on the can and had to be moved slightly to get it to set back in them. After each shot. Still no baffle strikes obviously noted.

I cross posted to suppressor since some pretty knowledgeable people there don't visit GD. And vice versa.
