Figure this will get more traffic in GD. If I buy a firearm from an out of state seller, what information does my FFL need from the seller of the firearm? Driver's License? I've looked at the ATF FAQ site, and i"m still kind of hazy? Where can I find documentation of the requirements? Guy I normally deal with is on vacation, and I'm skeptical of the other employees knowledge. Thanks. |

They need something to put into their records. Some FFLs have a policy that they will ONLY accept transfers from other FFLs (because it makes it simpler for them), and there's nothing legally preventing them from having such a policy. FFLs who do decide to accept transfers from individuals typically want some kind of state-issued ID for their records, but it can vary from FFL to FFL. |
