You're at your computer - be truthful - do you have a firearm within reach?

3/10/2003 12:37:35 AM EDT
[#1]
Four- a .357, 9mm, .40, and a .45.  Gotta get that dry fire practice in.

[#2]
I'm still wearing my CCW piece. Was out and about a couple of hours ago, just haven't unsaddled yet. Always one close by but usually not wearing one after so long being home. Just have it on all the time going out so used to it being on. Didn't even realize it till read your question. That's kinda funny.
3/10/2003 12:46:08 AM EDT
[#3]
Nope, just a knife - unless those damn sirens blare again.

[#4]
My HK USP Compact 40 is always within reach.

Should I ?
3/10/2003 2:43:01 AM EDT
[#6]
I'm within reach no matter where I am in my house. It just feels right. Maybe I'm paranoid.
[peep]
3/10/2003 2:54:16 AM EDT
[#7]
Always...its the only way I can coax/coerce Windows XP to work sometimes.[coffee]
3/10/2003 4:16:06 AM EDT
[#8]
well the computer is next to the dozen or so 50 cal ammo cans or assorted 5000 rounds.  the only gun in reach is the Armalite shorty.
3/10/2003 4:21:21 AM EDT
[#9]
Glock 20 with 15 rounder most always within reach and a Marlin 39A for critters by the CPU.
3/10/2003 4:36:23 AM EDT
[#10]

3/10/2003 5:47:52 AM EDT
[#11]

3/10/2003 5:53:31 AM EDT

Uhm, I can see 5 without having to swivel my head around, and 3 are within reach.

M1 Garand, unloaded, and a clip of ammo for it are about 7 feet away.  I could have a loaded rifle within 10 seconds if I needed one.
3/10/2003 8:57:42 AM EDT
[#15]
I rotate which gun I keep around for protection
[8D] right now it's a parkerized REM870 police magnum w/7 shot mag extension, 18" barrel, and a buttstock pouch with Federal 3" magnum OO buck shot.
3/10/2003 9:02:03 AM EDT
[#16]
Maybe......

Also a vote for 2.

An AR-15 with 2 30 rounders hanging from under my desk via a really trick application of padded bike hooks.

A SIG/Sauer P220 in .45 and sporting Crimson Trace grips in a Fobus paddle on my strong side with 2 8 round mags in another Fobus paddle on my weak side.

Oh yeah, I've also got my trusty folder in my right front pocket.

My wife has my back with her Kimber and an extra mag secreted somewhere on her body.[:D] If I am lucky I will get to do a pat-down later!
3/10/2003 9:25:17 AM EDT
[#23]
A .38 Special by my side and a 12-gauge two steps away - plus my German Shepherd and his teeth, his head's within reach 'cuz he likes his ears scratched.  Don't ya Rocko?
3/10/2003 9:26:10 AM EDT
[#24]
No......but I have a cell phone with 911 on a speed dial.

As I spin my chair around, within arm's reach are 2 AR's, Winchester 1300 Defender, .50 BMG rifle and a few miscellaneous firearms like Libertine's Beretta 682 and CoyoteKid's .22 Chipmunk and pellet rifle.  And some ammo.

What your base is Defenseless, woohoo. Lets see first I want to raid the armory, then take an F22 for a joy ride... hope I can land the damn thing :)

Let me rephrase that.  They take a dim view of anyone other than Security Forces (which includes AF SPs, DOD Cops, and NG troops) carrying firearms on base.

BTW, good luck finding an F-22 here!!  This is a training base!

Yes, I normally have my CCW weapon nearby. You never know when the munchies hit and I have to make a quick trip to 7/11.

Also I have my Mr Happy handy. Just in case a squad of Playboy Playmates decide to serve me a no knock warrant. [:D][sex][;D]

Company policy {DOD building} forbids a gun.  I do have a knife.

I am next door to a mocked up Crusader barrel.  I'm sure I could make a quick potato gun. [coffee]

Sucks doesn't it?  I hate living on base.

Forgot to add that I do have my 26" ASP baton and folder here.  My Matterhorn boots work great for kicking compliance into misguided airmen also  [:D]

Glock 30, stand and reach.

AR15, stand and turn around, take 1 step and grab.

All within 1 second of use.
3/10/2003 1:40:06 PM EDT
[#48]
Got my AR-50 about two feet from the computer. For something a bit more mobile I have to get up and walk about six feet.
3/10/2003 1:51:21 PM EDT
[#49]
Have the M-7 handy, have to stretch the legs a bit for more action...
3/10/2003 1:51:40 PM EDT
[#50]
My computer has a  built in 50 cal machine gun that I can aim and fire with either the joy stick or key board.
