Will diesel you get at the pump for your truck work in a tractor or do you need the off road diesel only? It will work. Red diesel is just a dye added to the fuel to show that the diesel was not road taxed. If they catch any red diesel in an on road truck or car that should be paying road tax, it is a huge fine. |

Last time we did this someone said there was a way to run untaxed fuel legally. But you have to pay the tax on your own, not the pump. How do those wvo guys do it? |

FPNI Same fuel, they just put the red dye in the farm/offroad fuel to indicate it was not taxed. My uncle was busted by DOT burning farm diesel in his Super Duty. It was about a $10,000 fine and they told him that if they caught him doing it again, they would search his farm diesel purchases for the last 20 years and charge him taxes on every gallon. He traded in his diesel for a gas burner the next day. |

| It will work in your farm, construction equipment. Thats all I run in my backhoe because I don't have time to run to a bulk fuel dealer for diesel. The farm equipment diesel you're talking about is dyed red as opposed to green or clear diesel you use in your truck and is illegal to use in your street truck. You can run the truck diesel in your equipment but legally not the reverse. Get caught running red farm tractor diesel in your street truck and it will cost you a hefty fine. |

Ask your questions, but please don't be rude. Also, nothing that will cause me to incriminate myself. Favorite brand of imitation crab meat? I don't buy imitation, but I will tell you a funny story. Funny and sad. I once bought a large jar of caviar and a large can of claw crab meat with food stamps. Long story on how I ended up with a month's worth of stamps (like 150 bucks back then) and it would probably incriminate me if I did. And the look on the $7/hr cashier's face as I said 'wow it must suck to have to work for a living'?....priceless. Disclaimer: This was many years ago when I was a teenager, and I didn't even realize at the time I wasn't supposed to be using someone's food stamps. Sad Fact: Caviar is highly overrated, tastes like bad long john silvers soaked in vinegar. Sad Fact 2: This was before the credit cards, when they used actual stamps, and they gave you real money as change back from your purchase. I went back until I had enough change to buy a pack of smokes. Thank you American taxpayers for my Russian delicacies and Marlboros. |
