Looks like it's that time of the year again, and while I probably should have bought a bike during the middle of winter, I didn't. Tax season is upon us and I should be getting a little chunk of change. Last year I bought a Specialized Hard Rock Sport Disc 29er. While it is a nice bike, I thrashed it pretty hard last year and I got a pretty good taste for the sport. Nothing has broken but I think it's about time I upgrade to something a little nicer before I replace tires and components on my current bike. I'm currently looking at the Specialized RockHopper and The Specialized Crave... Carve.. whatever. The geo and pricepoint on the rockhopper look nice but I really wouldn't mind getting the rockshox air fork on the higher end crave. I don't really know what is going to be "enough bike". I don't race, but I wouldn't say it's out of the question. I believe the crave is right around $1400. preferences: -hardtail -Pricepoint cannot exceed $1500 after tax. My wife will seriously kill me. -29er, I'm 6'04" What other options do you guys have? |
