I had one. If I gave it a little flick as I hit the button, it locked every time. |

I got a mini on black friday for $240ish. After having it a few weeks I sent it into benchmade because it was having failures so often. They rebuilt it re oiled it and sharpened it and sent it back and it's been great. That was all on their dime no questions asked. From time to time a cringe a little when I think about how much it cost, but I have an addiction to things that people think are illegal like nfa items. I catch my self playing with it while talking on the phone or watching tv.
I'd say for the double sided auto coolness factor alone it was worth it, I never really intend to do anything other than open boxes and letters with it mostly its a conversation piece. |

You can get a pretty good deal direct from Benchmade (30% off) if you register on their site as .mil/LEO/first responder. Use coupon code NRALOD2015 with it and it's even cheaper. NRA member discount? |

The Infidel makes me wish VA didn't have stupid switchblade laws. Alas, one must admire but not own. They are very well made, but then Benchmade knives usually are. I doubt you'll be disappointed with anything other than the cost. Thought you can own in Virginny but can't carry. No prob with a Glock 21 .45ACP with high velocity expanding hollow points but a knife that opens with the flick of a switch or a press of a button??? The horror...the horror...

Too bad Desert Knife Works went out of business. That Sandshark looked bad ass.

Quoted: If only they had Benchmade's attitude toward service/repair. Quoted: Quoted: It almost pains me to say this because I do like Benchmade, but Microtech makes vastly superior OTF designs. If only they had Benchmade's attitude toward service/repair. I have a Microtech stuck in the safe. It doesn't work. I really need to pull it down and try to fix it. I haven't had any trouble with my Benchmade though. |

The horror...the horror...Most interpretations of the law i have heard/read concur with what you stated. IE: Can own, can't carry unless active LE/MIL. Biggest issue is that due to the ambiguity and restrictions, i've yet to run into a knife dealer who would sell one to anyone unless they had LE/MIL ID. My local knife dealer who i buy almost everything from has that policy as well. It sucks, and as you illustrated, the law is antiquated, arbitrary and stupid, but it is what it is. |

I got issue a infidel for a deployment in 08, the dust slowed it down enough that you had to flick you wrist when you push the button to lock it out. If you spray degreaser in the little hole at the butt, with the blade facing down it clears up the problem but it is a bit delicate for field usage. |

For duty use, fixed blade is the way to go. |
