Where can I buy one of these? They are new for 2015 and apparently impossible to get at the moment.

You could always call Savage and ask them.  When I was looking for a very specific, uncommon model, I called them and asked where I could find one.  They pointed me in a decent direction, and when I contacted that company I found out they would let me order it over the phone and ship it to a local FFL.  Got the exact gun I was looking for...  Another savage rifle I've always wanted, but is not often in stock anywhere, I wound up picking up in Tennessee.  It's a long way from ND to TN, but I got the gun I wanted.

It seems my "local" Cabelas has this in stock...the right hand version anyway. However, they can get the lefty version.

With the $100 rebate from Savage, the $100 rebate from Cabelas, this might cost right at $500 OTD!

Oh man, I was looking for a Hog Hunter as a suppressor host... but I don't want/need open sights, and this probably has a better stock, and integral scope mount.

By the time I paid for those changes to the HH, I could just buy one of these...

Exactly!

The only downside is that mags, but Dark Angel has mags so that is a bonus.

Not thrilled with the bolt handle, and why a pound and a half more than the 20" HH??

I'll have to compare them in person first, I think.

I have no idea why the weight is 1.5" heavier.

It does have a 4" longer barrel so theres that.

Actually I was talking about the 20" right handed version, it weighs 1.5 lbs more than the 20" HH. The 24" version is 1.75 lbs heavier.

Just got off the phone with the customer service at Savage Arms, this rifle is not available until late April.

Heavier barrel profile, and Accustock makes it heavier.  Accustock is tension adjustable aluminum bedded - adds weight over the mostly polymer HH stock.

24" is 1.75 lbs heavier because of longer & heavier barrel in addition to the accustock.

Good info.

So, if I was going to get rid of the shitty tupperware stock that comes on the HH, I'd PROBABLY be looking at about the same weight as this rifle anyways.
