| So I need to figure out how this is done. I have some M855 that I would gladly unload at a $1.00/round. Hell, I would gladly neck beard with a neck beard and trade him 2 for 1 for m193, he would still have .33 to 'Beard with. Here are my questions, when I look through Gunbroker and the EE, M855 isn't going for 'beard prices. Where does one engage in 'beard capitalism and find willing buyers? Have I already missed the bubble? All I want to do is off load some of my M855 stash and reinvest it back into ammo. I just need some guidance. Oh, and do I really have to grow a neck beard to get a premium on my ammo? I don't think my wife will let me. |
| I don't really know if M855 is going to get bearded like .22LR. .22 is cheap if you can find it at retail which makes it easy to triple the price on and still be somewhat affordable for someone who might actually fire it. Centerfire stuffs just not that cheap at retail so the overhead's high for the beards and tripling makes it pretty damn high for a lot of shooters. Plus there's still other ammo without the M855 that a lot of people preferred anyways. |

locally. however now I got to sell this handgun I got for 360rds of 855. ~100 bucks in ammo lol. best I did was 87.5 cpr. I like this angle... yeah, got to meet a guy this weekend for 5 boxes at $75, its a bit of a drive but I was thinking of heading up b/c I need to get a lower engraved anyways. then I'm out of the beard game, I just don't feel like its gonna last and last thing I wanna be stuck with is 50cpr blasting ammo. |

first you need to not shave for 3 months and start eating a dozen krispy creams a day. If you do this, you will achieve "neckbeard enlightenment" and will know the answers to all neckbearding-related conundrums. You will no longer need GD to give you 'bearding advice. |

OP. Make a "bell" graph. List highs on one side and lows on the other. In the middle is where the sales are. At a 1$/rd. you will find VERY few takers, the quick sales have been around .50-.65 point. It also depends on WHERE you are in relation to the HIGH sales point....shipping, it's expensive. Find the high sell point area(market) and market it there. Just remember...time is money |

Oh, and do I really have to grow a neck beard to get a premium on my ammo? I don't think my wife will let me. The neckbeard bubble you were looking for began on February 13 when ATF made their announcement, and ended about 5-6 days later. Prices went as high as about 90 cents per round briefly, then came back down and are now around 50-60 cents per round. Part of neckbearding ammo successfully is anticipating market fluctuations based on current events as well as raw materials prices. If M855/SS109 is actually banned, the price may slowly rise over time as existing stockpiles are neckbearded off and supply exceeds demand. If you paid 30-35 cents per round for it (pre-Newtown prices), you will make a modest profit. But given that prices on 5.56 and .223 across the board have gone up, your neckbeard margin is going to be reduced. You may want to sit on it for a while to see what happens with the market in a couple weeks. |
