This thread got me thinking. Assuming there are sleeper cells in the US, and they are planning on attacking soft targets (malls, schools, sporting events) how would you EXPECT them to be armed? AKs, because that is what they were probably trained with and used to? Would they be purchased here by sympathizers? If so, converted to full auto or left semi? Smuggled in? Would it more likely be a hodge podge of what they could get on the black market? ARs because that is the most popular rifle here in the US? |

Whatever is used, and in what capacity doesn't matter.
Those who commit the crimes will not be punished. We, as law abiding citizens will feel the brunt of the anti-2A backlash that would be immediately waged against us. There's times, I believe those in control, and their followers masterbate to the thought of an attack on it's own citizens for just THAT reason. |

Semi auto AR, AK, handguns Same stuff on the shelf at Wally World on any local gun store or gun show. Nothing special. You could raise holy hell in a mall or school with a semi auto AR with 8-10 30 round mags with a handgun as backup with 3-4 mags Look what Lanza did and he didn't have any training. 3-4 guys would stack the bodies over 100 for sure. Homemade explosives as there is probably plenty of info online on how to do that. The smarter ones are not going to want to take the chance of drawing unneeded attention like those stupid bastards they arrested in NY today. Posting online asking if you shoot Obama and if that will make you a martyr shows your level of intelligence. Thank god most of these asshats appear disorganized and stupid. Unfortunately it's probably because we can't find the smart ones and won't until something happens. Shit seems to be getting closer to home every day. |

Far less logistics for a group of say a dozen people to work through, and a very high body count for the expense. Hell, 1 Sudden Jihad Syndrome affected person could create a hell of a lot of terror sniping at a full, open stadium (covered in several books). Explosives would be a lot more difficult and expensive, relatively, and they wouldn't want to waste it on a corner diner like they currently do in the Middle East. If explosive, i'd guess it would be a large to huge VBIED (OKC/WTC1 or larger), targeted at infrastructure, such as power plants, oil facilities, skyscrapers. I'd also predict that that VBIED would be driven into a secure area by a mid to long term employee suffering from SJS. |

During the 1990s I recall the Chinese got busted smuggling full auto AKs into the US for sale to gangs
It would be in their interest to do the same again. They will use whatever they get their hands on, probably. And another thing I read way back (might have been Jack Anderson) was the Soviet GRU had "small" demolition nukes smuggled into motherboard tier states, and other arms caches hidden away for the day they needed them. I wonder if they were ever removed or found? |

They'll get someone with no criminal history for a strawman purchase of legal guns simply because that's the easiest route. If they can't do that for some reason they'll smuggle some in. They got automatic weapons (and even an RPG, apparently) into France; getting them here won't be a problem. It'll just take a little longer. A bomb might actually be the better way to go, though, for sheer terror and mayhem, because there's nobody to shoot back at. |

They can be manufactured, but the success rate for that isn't all that great. A few guys with rifles could tear the hell out of a crowd and probably kill more people than most IEDs. |

I would tax the fuck out of everyone for everything, spy on everybody, and take control of the Internet and do it right in broad daylight while Oprah was on if I were a terrorist.....I would create so many rules and regulations to follow that no one could keep up and everyone would could be criminalized if I were a terrorist.......50% of everything would be required and 50% of everything would be illegal......you know.....if I were a terrorist I would create my own army with armor and air assets under the guise of "protecting" citizens if I were a terrorist......I would then give our avowed enemies the ability to create weapons of mass destruction.....if I were a terrorist. Drop 3 guys off at different entrances with each having a specific route to walk in mall while shooting. All head towards same but different exit from where they entered where the driver is waiting and covering for the unfortunate first responder if that even happens to be the entrance he uses. Chances are he uses main entrance and if they exit using a secondary he never sees or encounters them. 2 minute walk thru mall shooting targets of opportunitity. Exit to car, load up and drive away before many know what happened. 5 minutes later every emergency responder in town is at the mall. Then they drive 15 minutes away and do this at Walmart going in 1 or 2 main entrances taking different paths thru store and exiting thru automotive department side entrance where escape vehicle is waiting and all the police are at the mall across town. Any first responder pulls up to front entrance and they drive out side exit. Leave town and repeat in Anywhere USA in a week or so.

| Figure $600 for authentic looking SWAT uniforms, $600 for an AR, $200 for 500 rnds of 5.56 each, $100 for 10 mags apiece, a rented black cargo van $100, you're looking at $1500 apiece for a kitted out SWAT imposter, x10=$15000, add in the van rental, assorted sorry term living expenses, maybe 20 grand to pull off a mall hit by sleepers that would involve showing up at the mall looking like SWAT, people think, oh is just some training exercise. ... Then BOOOM, shit starts, and responding LEO'S from different agencies may be confused about who's who, It'd be a shit show for sure. Especially if done on a big shopping day like black Friday. |
