| If I carry into a gun free zone, such as Mall of America, my local mall, Starbucks, what are the consequences if it were to be discovered that i'm carrying? It's not a legal issue is it? I assume you would just be kicked out or banned from the premises. I prefer not to step near gun free zones anyway but just wanted to know. |

In Indiana, NO GUN signs do not carry the force of law. Or, it isn't technically a criminal act to carry there. If discovered bu the proprietor, they can certainly ask you to leave. Failure to leave could be tresspassing or more, depending on the officer who arrives on scene and your demeanor.
In other states (like Ohio), NO GUN signs do carry the force of law. It actually is against the law to carry there, and you could be charged for that alone. Every state has it's own rules. You need to research the laws before travelling. Indiana CCW does not require any training, so there are lots of states that do not recognize our permits (no reciprocity). |
