I have been asked several times about these HighCom Security Level IV plates because they are so cheap, I was lucky enough to have a fellow Arfcommer send me one to abuse. This is probably the cheapest price for a Level IV plate I have ever seen. $149 for a 10x12 shooters cut and they have smaller ones for closer to $100 bucks. 2tired2run wanted to see multiple hits from 5.56 and 7.62x39 as well as some pistol rounds thrown in after the rifle rounds. I fucked up the first 3 shots from the SKS and put them really low on the plate, which blew the entire bottom off and still none of those rounds went through. I tried to put one more higher and put it right where the others were and it went through. Then I reset the plate and put two more x39 rounds closer to the middle, it stopped those just fine. Then 5 shots from a full size M&P 40. For the money this is something worth considering if not a front runner. I can't speak for longevity for storage or drop tests or anything but based on the construction I would say it looks durable. Thanks again to 2tired2run for sending me this, and if you guys can hit the like button it helps. Thanks. Link for mobile users: http://youtu.be/8CYsV1Xer9Y |

That's impressive Off to look up the weight What did you find? From what I looked at, their plates are comparable, or lighter, and cheaper. Take their 10x12 ultralight. 5.2lbs vs 5.5 at bulletproofme and $690 vs $990 Seems to be that way almost across the board |

How will we ever know! Quoted:
It could be a 24" barrel at 1 yard and 5.56 still wouldn't go through, the bother was for multiple hits (of two different calibers). Quoted:

Barrel length and distance? If just 10 yards with a 16" why bother? |

I think people were mostly skeptical of a $150 Level IV standalone plate, I know I was. I know a concern with ceramic plates is whether or not they can hold up as long as you don't stack shots. This stuff is the real deal. |

Which one is the best to order? I see shooter style, curved style, multi curve? Depends slightly on the carrier as far as what type and size of plate to get. Most decent carriers have the ability to adjust to accept a range of sizes. For comfort, the multi-curve shooters cut for front and back is best. IMO Edit- The curve type is how it "fits" to your body/torso. The cut, such as shooter or swimmer, is about the angle of the cut to allow more range of motion with your arms, i.e. carrying stuff or shouldering a rifle. 2nd Edit- Use discount code "USAMADE" for Highcom Security, not sure if it works on all products/plates but definitely works on the 4SAS7. |

Well crap. Just ordered a set of shooters cut. I used the promo code "ARMOR" and it knocked $74.00 off. don't know if this was part of the promo but I also got free shipping. $230 shipped for 2 single curved shooters cut... or $250 shipped for 2 multi curved... good deal! |

Hmm... comparing these to AR500 They weigh about the same... I'm assuming they are fragile though? Quoted:

$126 for a 10x12 multi curve shooters cut, a t-shirt, and free delivery? YES PLEASE! That's a freaking steal too good to pass up. Hmm... comparing these to AR500 They weigh about the same... I'm assuming they are fragile though? Fragile is relative, I guess. It didn't look like shattering the shit out of it with rifle rounds seemed to effect it much. Spalling has always been my concern with AR500. This seems to take care of that problem. |

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I just placed my order. |
| So how much more comfortable are the multicurve plates tha the single curve? I ordered the active shooter response kit (plates only) and the only option was 2 10x12 single curve plates. I got them both in shooters cut. Should I give them a call this morning and change it from the active shooters kit to 2 multicurve shooters cut plates? |

Yes, I ordered wrong last year and did the same thing. The multi-curve are much better. |

OP, you used a factory M193 in your test? 3200 fps? I've tested plates before and have found plates
that would in fact stop a M855 but not a M193. Not being a dick I just want to make sure that is in fact what you used. Their website specifically lists M193 in other armor (much more expensive of course) but not in this particular one. |
