| I have cox highspeed. I am suppose to be getting up to 100 Mbps down speed. I've been pinging at 6 to 10 down. I called a month ago and they came out and installed a new line. Well I hit 30 down when they did that. Next day, back to 5 to 10 down speed. I'm on the phone now with Cox. What other things may be the issue? I'm close to telling them to eat a bag of dickies if they ask me to restart my modem one more time |

If you are connected via a wireless router have you tried to bypass run a speed test directly to the modem. I have seen way to many routers go bad compared to actual modems. |

Yep. I was on the phone with the rep. She wanted me to run the ethernet and use cox speed test. I laughed at her a little when she said that the other speed tests were not as accurate. Their speed test showed me at 3 mbps down via hard connection which was 2 slower than the other one. I think they are just full of shit. I pinged 30 Mbps down on the day the hooked up the line. I'm betting that the other houses in the neighborhood are eating the band width and they don't want to admit it.
I'm close to canceling it and trying uverse. At least I should be able to get somewhat of their advertised down speed. |

I just got cable, after dumping uverse over a $5 up charge, so FUCK YOU AT&T. I was at 1 meg down with charter and their used shit...told them to fuck off and I had new modem the next day. Now, its 100 megs down and 4 megs up (should be 5, but I was at 1.97 with AT&T, so I'm happy as fuck). Stay with cable...unless you are right by that fucking dslam. |
