I have a couple Mercedes trucks that have painted steel wheels and the brake dust is heavy. I've cleaning them with Simple Green which is ok but for the price it sucks.
Any ideals on another product that is inexpensive and does a good job on painted steel wheels? |

Yep, Sonax is the stuff! I rotated my tires this weekend and while they were off I took the opportunity to clean the inside of the wheels. I sprayed them with Sonax and after sitting for a few minutes I rinsed them off and used a sponge on the worst spots. They looked practically new afterwards. |

This is the stuff I use. Seriously, it works great, it's fairly cheap and it's readily available:
