Car insurance co. called a couple days ago wondering why we were late on the payment. Hmm, checkbook says we wrote the check, bank said check was processed 2 weeks ago.
Go to the bank and they pull up the cashed check. Apparently some little delinquent stole the envelope out of the mailbox and wrote his name over the insurance co. name heavy enough to hide it, endorsed the check, and cashed it. Two other checks mailed out the same day have not made it to the bank. Fucker(s). |

Did you mail it at one of these small street corner mail boxes?
You have to be careful with these, some thieves have figured out that they can knock over the whole box right off of the concrete. I try to mail anything like bills directly at the post office and specifically the inside slot if there is parking. The giant mail box outside the post office is usually massive and would be very hard to steal. |
