4-5 y/o top loading Maytag.

Hoses are fine. Leaking out the bottom on rinse cycle(I think).

Mopped up about a gallon,

Buddy is coming over tonight to help tip and hold unit while I get down and eyeball with flashlight.

I don't have a clue... what should I be looking for?

Go on YouTube.  Search for your model washer and the terms, "leaking" or "troubleshooting."

They will often have step by step disassembly videos by professional appliance repairmen.

New ones have shit parts.  Probably a plastic pump leaking.

Do the Youtube thing, but start by completely unhooking it (water lines and electric) and removing the back.

Are you sure your drain isn't plugged or draining too slow to keep up with the washer?

I'm gonna say it's either your lint/trash trap is clogged, or a leaky drain hose. I had to replace an internal drain hose on mine once.
