I just picked one of these up from a friend for a screamin' deal. I initially had intentions of maybe selling or trading for a P226, but I'm starting to dig this old girl.. Except for one thing. The grips feel a little slippery for my big hands. My googlefu is weak as fuu, and I have never owned a Sig. What kind of an aftermarket do these things have, and where can I find some parts? So far I dig it all but the grips. I'd rather not stipple them if I could get something a bit grippier. Do regular P220 compact grips fit this SAS genII? Also, any recommendations for holsters? I carry appendix and am in love with my Gcode Incog. Will this fit another Sig model holster? Thanks guys. |

The P220 Compact is essentially a new version of the P245.
There are several differences but they basically come down to stamped slides for the older guns, (ie P245 in this case) and a milled slide on the 220 Compact. The 220 Compact has a milled slide with an integral breach block. The 245 has a stamped slide with a separate breach block that is pinned in place. Check for any grips that fit the 245 and you should be just fine. Hogue G10 & Hardwood grips As far as parts go.....Topgun supply is your best friend for spare parts. Also found these while looking for grips for you: Xgrips 220 full size mag adapter for 220 compact/245 The P245 wasnt the most popular model so there isnt as much after market stuff for it or the 220 compact.....but its a great gun, and very accurate. My father still has his and carries it regularly. Any holster that fits the 245 should fit the 220 carry, they are pretty much the same dimensions. |

Congrats! I was beginning to think that I was the only other person on the face of the planet with one of these.
I was originally going to buy the all Nitride version, but eventually went with the two-tone. I use mine with a Milt Sparks P220C holster and it fits just fine. I haven't tried changing out the grips on mine, but I would presume that if the holster works, the grips probably do too. Sorry, no pics available though. |

I second the Hogue G10 series....specifically the G10 Extreme Chainlink ....these are very aggressive grips and you will not slip. Hogue Extreme G10 for p220 Compact The SAS GenII is the same size as the regular 220 compact.
For holsters, my preference is Blade Tech For other SIG parts, your best friend is Top Gun Supply The only mod I would make to a stock DA/SA pistol, is to add the SRT (short reset trigger), which will make your Single-action shooting a joy. Kit's are $49.00 and can be self installed if you have any skillz. Congrats on a great pistol! |

Bought the same gun in the middle of last year. It's taken over most of my daily carry duties and is also my truck gun . Very comfortable gun for daily carry, recoil isn't bad for a 45 and I love the "SAS" rounded corners.
Very nice gun OP, it'll serve you well. |

Put like 3 or 4 rounds through it at work today just to get a quick feel for it, and it really surprised me how mild it felt. This weekend I'll actually get a chance to put a couple hundred through it. Wasn't really interested in a compact 45, but deal was good, and this thing is winning me over. It may find its way into my pants after all (ya know... to carry). Thanks for all the help and links, everybody! I really appreciate it! |
