9/11/2001 the populace at large was dumbfounded considering the prospect of using commercial airliners as flying suicide bombs for terrorisim. But people had discussed the possibility before...it just seemed so outlandish.
I believe the next major terrorist attack will be a drone attack. People have been flying RC planes for decades. And with the technological leaps we have had in this market sector the last 4-5y you can piece together a pretty effective private attack drone (as long as you don't mind breaking a few FCC laws regarding radio communications) for just a few thousand dollars. And I don't believe it will be an explosive pyload, most likely it'll be chemical or biological. Anthrax isn't difficult to culture...and dispursed in arisol form over a crowd at some place like....the superbowl, or time square on New Years Eve, or Disney world... You get the point. Probable? Not really. Possible? Definately. Just like flying an airliner into a skyscraper seemed in 1999. |

Yes, it would be very easy to plan and carry out an attack like that. The mass-murder plot in the movie Goldfinger was 50 years ago and had the same sort of idea, but somehow nobody's ever tried it in real life since. Of course it was a James Bond villain plot but they always had some root in possibility. There's just nothing you can do to prevent it. |

several weeks before the 2002 olympics, i was in a local hobby shop (Provo Utah) buying an engine for one of the planes I was flying. There were two guys in the store that looked very dark and swarthy. Looked totally out of place. They were just looking around and acting all nervous. I was in no hurry and was browsing though stuff and just sort of watching them. Two guys that skin color, that close after the twin towers drew attention, especially in provo utah, where the only brown skin people we have are Hispanic or Polynesian. These were neither. They got the attention of the owner and started asking questions. Really odd questions, that REALLY perked up my ears... - How far can this plane fly on this much gas? - How far does the signal reach? - How far from the box can it go? - How much weight can it carry? - Is it hard to learn to fly? - Can we put things in here (indicating the body cavity under the wing near the radio gear - Do you have to be able to see it to fly it? All in very rough english. Only one did the talking to the store owner. The other just sat back quietly and listened. I was not able to understand the language but got close enough I could hear them. I thought it was Arabic but wasn't sure. I didn't recognize it at all and it sounded a little different . I called my office phone and let it go to voice mail and held my phone by my head and stood near them. I was able to record a little bit of what they were saying on my voice mail. A good friend of mine at work was from Karachi, I played it for him later and he said it was Pashtun. They grilled the store owner for a while about this plane vs that plane, how far they could fly, how far the signal reached, would the signal go a mile etc. SUPER weird. He even looked at me and had this sort of worried look. They then went outside, got in a car and drove off. I grabbed the plates and wound up calling a tip line they had established at the time to report suspicious things post 9/11. Nothing much happened but a week later I got a call from the FBI, they asked me questions for an hour, descriptions, everything they said, what time, license plate everything. I wound up getting two or three follow up calls from different people, first in the salt lake office, then DC. it was very odd. The feeling I got was that they were trying to figure out if they could put about 5lbs of something in the plane, and fly it a long distance away from themselves. they were very concerned about how far they could maintain control of it. They were saying half mile to a mile, which is WWWAAAY past where you can even see a .40 or .60 size RC plane. So i'd say you might be right, I'm sure the assholes who sit around and think this shit up have already considered it, and something to be mindful off. The good news is, I am pretty sure I can bring down a drone with my 28 gauge. I just have to figure out how to conceal it..... |

The small cell attacks scheme seems to be cost efficient. Not too complicated.
Find pissed off minorities who've bought into the angry lesbian dialogue of Western European white devils (same as the late sixties early 70's sell only appealing to a different demographic). | My biggest concern is the vulnerability of the electrical grid. The IT systems that control most of this country's electrical infrastructure are incredibly insecure. Wouldn't take much to plunge a big chunk of the US into darkness and the ensuing panic would be massive. |

Have said it before but insiders at major airport like JFK or LaGuardia in NYC getting a jet right after take off and flying it into another building before anyone could do anything about it.

Always thought that would be an easy target. Get a small plane full of fuel, load it down with as much extra fuel as it can possibly carry and fly it into the upper deck of a sports stadium. You could easily kill a couple thousand people by coming in at the right angle to skid along the whole deck. Plenty of small airports around to get a plane and plenty of full stadiums on most every Saturday or Sunday. |
| It is more likely a "lone-wolf" operation by an individual or small isolated group, encouraged by the extremists. They will not have the training, financial means or technological sophistication to manufacture or obtain a WMD, but will use conventional or improvised weapons only. I think the most likely scenarios are active shooters or improvised explosives at a public place or event, or staged executions broadcast using social and mass media (in the style as hostages in Syria have been beheaded). |

I don't know what the next terrorist attack will be like, but I can bet we will be a full-on police state afterwards. Or the bad guys can just wait and watch us die slowly from corruption and tyranny. |

Jewish event with a small crowd or a Jewish owned small business. 10-20 dead and double that injured. Like the coffee shop attack in Israel in the 90's. edit: Or like the Boston marathon bombing. Soon, within the next year. Edit: There will be monthly or weekly attacks in Africa for the next few decades. |
| It will either be a dirty bomb or a small yield nuclear device. With the Norks getting close to miniturizing their warheads, and Iran close to a nuclear weapon it will happen sooner than later. Not to mention the threat of some of Pakistan's nukes getting loose. |
