| Where can I find one? |

I'd put a fording kit on it, but that's just me... |
| There was an importer for Unimogs and Pinzgauers out here for a while, so they are around. I had a Pinzgauer which is sometimes compared to a Unimog, but they are way different. The Pinzgauer has independent suspension and is much smaller. It is also more roadworthy. The Unimog is much better offroad, especially on obstacles and uneven ground. The Pinzgauer is very tippy, which is why I got rid of it. The 404 Mogs can be picked up cheap. They would be a cool flatland vehicle. Altitude killed them here. |

When I'm done with this stupid cow business I'm buying a Unimog. I still need the Deuce though. http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=58893 Don't think the Unimog can carry 1500 gallons of water. That thing is badass!!!! |

A doctor in my hometown has one/had one for the heck of it. He used it to tow his boat.

I see them for sale on Craigslist every now and then. Mostly in Colorado or Idaho. Speaking of Colorado I did some work down around the south east corner and I drove through a tiny bumfuck town that had a Unimog dealership. It blew my mind. |

Quoted: Unimogs are awesome. They are also slow, and suck at highway speed. Here's a pic from the wayback machine: http://www.ar15.com/media/viewFile.html?i=2411 All I see are bushes and trees ![]() |

When everything is stuck, call that weird guy with the unimog. Except it's not running because he can't get/fabricate any of dozens of ultra-rare discontinued parts for the damn thing. The biggest drawback to any retro 4x4 (Pinz, Mog, Heep, LR, LC, etc) is the lack of parts. |

That spare tire mount on the Magpul Unimog makes my back hurt. I had 37x13.5 Toyo MT's on 17" wheels and that bastard weighed about 150 pounds. It was too large for the traditional under the bed mount so I had it strapped in the bed. That was always a real bitch putting it in the bed alone.
Everything your back doctor says not to do -- That. |
