Looking to replace the CFL bulbs in my living room as the flickering is about to give me a seizure.
I would like to order them from Amazon. |

Check out your local Home depot. They are discounting the Cree's that have the 10year warrenty and are glass and are the TW's for around $5 to $6 a piece, normally around $20 for the 40 and 60 watt. They are moving to the plastic bulbed 4 flows with a 3 year warrenty.
The TW's are just like incandescent as far as the light they put out. Very simliar to the reveal incandescents of old. The old style uses just a hair less juice than the new 4 flows. |

Bought 3 of them two weeks ago. 2 of them no longer work... Quoted:

CREE Bought 3 of them two weeks ago. 2 of them no longer work... Yeah. It happens. I bought one, used it for about 10 seconds then put an incandescent bulb back in due to the weight of the Cree. Pity as that the really only place for the bulb as others use the smaller chandelier type bulbs. |

The Cree that I got from HD and Costco had the CFL light look - cold. Bought some from Ikea, and they emit like like an incandescent bulb, not to mention way cheaper. You bought a day light instead of soft white. They are more expensive and a brighter/whiter color/kelvin. IKEA led, ouch. |

Still good lights and still going strong. |

There is old Cree and new Cree, I am digging the new Cree. The one with the vents. Old cree, sans vents are pretty damn good also. Just be advised that the "new" CREE bulbs only have a 3 year warranty. The "old" bulbs with the big heat sink have a 10 year warranty. OP If you buy either, KEEP THE RECIEPT! And proof of purchase. (The bar code that says "proof of purchase" on it.) If anything happens, you'll need both to get a replacement. I bought 2 of the CREE "daylight" 60 watt equivalents for the kitchen. They are "brite white" similar to the color of LEDs used in refrigerators. I really like them a lot. |

I much prefer the daylights to the cool whites. For some reason my local HD only stocks the cools, had to order the CREE daylights shipped to me. Daylight is roughly the equivalent or is the industry consumer equivalent to cool white (5500 vs 5000plus). Soft white/neutral is 2700 or what a normal incandescent looks like. Then there is everything in the middle (halogen mainly, in the 3000-3500 range, then natural in the 3500-4500). |

Thread this long, with no links? Shameful. |

If you can't find the Cree bulbs, go to Lowes and try out the Osram 2700K bulbs. They share a patent cross-license with Cree and carry a 5 year warranty. |

They're cheaper on Ebay. $5 for a 12W LED bulb. Select either 3000k or 6000k. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191001754895 |
